How do you manage your energy with PBC?

PBC can cut your day short and force hard choices about what gets done. How do you decide where to spend your energy in the face of fatigue? What strategies, routines, or tradeoffs help you get through the day?

  1. I just keep pushing my body. But I usually pay for it the next day. My family don’t really understand my diease and I feel like they really don’t want to. They sure don’t make my life any easier. I’m 66 and they are just use to me handling everything and they go through life with no worries bc I’ve always took care of everything. Pretty much my life in general!!

    1. That can be a tough spot to be in. It’s hard when the people closest to you don’t fully understand what you’re going through, especially when pushing yourself leaves you feeling worse the next day. I wanted to share an article from our site called “Learning to Say No,” which may offer some helpful tips on conserving your energy, pacing yourself, and giving yourself grace as you navigate life with PBC. You can read it here: https://primarybiliarycholangitis.net/living/say-no. I hope this helps! You deserve to take care of yourself, too! Hang in there, Latoya (Team Member)
