Do you have other autoimmune conditions, in addition to PBC?

PBC can increase the risk of developing other autoimmune conditions, such as Sjögren’s, thyroid disease, and more. Do you live with other conditions in addition to PBC? How does living with them affect you?

    1. How long have you been living with fibromyalgia? -Latoya (Team Member)

  2. I was diagnosed with Stage 3 PBC and Mesenteric Panniculitis in March. I found out I have Hashimotos about 10 years ago. I also suddenly developed high blood pressure last year. Hashis caused me to gain 100 pounds, have joint pain, cold intolerance, extreme fatigue, insomnia and migraine headaches. Since starting a GLP-1, about 7 months ago, I'm down 57 pounds and my symptoms have improved so much! My TSH is normal all the time now. I don't really have any physical symptoms of PBC yet, except maybe fatigue; but my doctor told me he thinks being on the GLP-1 may have kept my liver from getting worse.

    1. It’s really encouraging to hear you’ve found something that’s made such a noticeable difference for you! GLP-1s have definitely become really popular lately, especially with how many people are seeing improvements not just with weight but also with other related symptoms and conditions. Did your doctor recommend starting the GLP-1 for you? -Latoya (Team Member)

  3. I was diagnosed with PBC in 2005. I have since been diagnosed with gastro paresis, Gerd, insomnia, Sjorgrens, Crest. I am constantly cold and hungry. I am fatigued and can't travel well. I have lost track of which symptoms go where. As I age they seem to work together. I see no end.

    1. I know it's a lot to carry, especially when everything starts blending together. And when everything stacks like that, it can feel never-ending and exhausting in a different kind of way. You’re dealing with a lot more than most people can see on the surface. Have you found anything that gives you even a little relief on the tougher days? -Latoya (Team Member)
