Lisa Vaz

Patient Leader liz vazLisa Vaz didn’t just enter the world of autoimmune disease, she was initiated into it early. In the 1980s, she watched her mother battle severe refractory autoimmune hemolytic anemia and tragically lose, an experience that would shape how Lisa later faced her own diagnoses.

Years later, Lisa was diagnosed with overlapping autoimmune hepatitis and PBC. For a time, things were stable, until they weren’t. Then came Sjogren's and IBS. After two bouts of COVID, one in 2024 that led to 450cc of fluid around her heart and severe pulmonary arterial hypertension, and another in 2025, her health didn’t just decline, it unraveled. These events triggered a massive systemic chain reaction, bringing hidden conditions to the surface and forcing her into the fight of her life.

Most people would go quiet. Lisa went public.

Today, she uses her voice to educate, advocate, and say what many patients are too dismissed or overwhelmed to express. Her mission is clear: help people understand autoimmunity, ask better questions, and become advocates for themselves through her writing skills.

Before all of this, Lisa owned an alternative health center in California and later built an online presence teaching mindset, manifestation, and marketing.

Now, she shares the good, the bad, and the taboo, breaking stigma and empowering others.

Lisa lives by one truth: “I fight for me, for you, for all of us.”
